VATS and Fuel pump priming
Quick question: If VATS is still enabled on a vehicle without a BCM, will the fuel pump go through it's 2 second priming cycle or is the PCM essentially just 'dead' until it receives the expected BCM command?

Re: VATS and Fuel pump priming
VATS has nothing to do with fuel pump prime
According to chemistry, alcohol is a solution...

Re: VATS and Fuel pump priming
the only security I've seen do that is the VP commodore, it wont enable the ecm until the security fob is pressed, but that's a car security system and not part of the ecm/vats
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: VATS and Fuel pump priming
All it is on the VP is the switched ignition is cut to the ECU by the ATM, so is not a true security feature, rather an elaborate kill switch.

Re: VATS and Fuel pump priming
regardless of how it works, it stops the fuel pump from priming is my message!

Re: VATS and Fuel pump priming
on latter models VT and up a SRS Module that has been deployed will cut the fuel pump, an oil pressure switch on older models can also cause issues.
