There is some ripper vintage super tall server cases on ebay but all are from the US. Nothing at all in Oz.

Anyway I will update on the VP.

Progressing some more. Not long before the hard part here is all done. the engine bay and front end. Its hard and timing consuming because of all the nooks and crannies, hiddy holes and what not. The rest of the car is just broad flat areas which are easy. So far over 5L of acetone has been consumed and I had to get new canisters for the gas mask.

Also this arrived today from the US. NOS corvette C4 rear calipers, aka VN group A rear calipers.
Just need to get some brackets which are a dime a dozen in the US, a fair few listings for them so that's no issue at all.

The interesting thing about these calipers is they have billet anodised aluminium pistons. Must be for weight reduction.

btw the calipers are being stashed for the VP S and not going on this build.

I also have some great news. I have managed to secure NOS VP front bumpers    only took me 4 years to get them out of rares via the good guys at speeds in Canberra. Bastards at rares were hording them claiming they sold out years ago but my persistence didn't work until I got the speeds guys to get them in as I'm a good customer of theirs.

Funny story they said they get them in and then a week went past and they called me up saying they got stuffed around by rares and said they didn't have stock and they weren't getting the order for the bar they put in for me. 2 days latter I get called again saying they had a wtf moment when a NOS bar turned up and now they are showing stock levels again?

So I knew it, They had these bars all along and just some dicks playing around and not releasing the items or they have no clue on what stock they actually have?

Anyway I'm so happy I got them and asked that to order another. One for the red rocket and one for the S.

this one VSH. alot of wreckers lose track of older NOS - they simply do not know what they have. and they won't let anyone in to see so it goes unfound for years on end. ironically a very good friend of mine was a wrecker once. we stumbled on gold several times. he had been in the game for years and years.

love to know where you got those calipers from.

I'm talking about rare spares.

I got the calipers on ebay. they were listed there well before the discussion about them on this forum, so quite a while but it was a fair bit of dosh so I waited until I sold some expensive NOS vw stuff on ebay and used the paypal credits to get the calipers.

They were pricey with shipping but but no where near the listing of a set here in Oz, guy here wants more that 1200 for calipers and a pair of rotors

VSH, interesting those rear calipers ironically look like the front calipers from the VN S and SS / FE2 spec

Bigger piston I used to have the specs but God knows where they are now. Finned housing too. HSV ran these with a thicker disc and also was a finned rotor too compared to stock being thin and solid.

same physical size virtually but a bit wider to take vented rotors. Piston I believe is 42? mm vs 38mm stock

Yes same design but smaller. In fact the larger VL-VS front finned are the same calipers used on the older C3 corvette.

All of the US calipers are aussie made PBR where PBR was used.
