Well It turns out I have to use the old IDE, this one actually isn't the pro variant of the board and lacks the SCSI controller as seen in the pics.

A comparison to my old full ATX tri SLI gaming rig. This is going to be pretty epic. Literally, I will load some UT games on it too.

Have installed the RAM and the CPUs, but the CPUs need the mods done first. Will try just one installed to see if the mods work or not.

That 3 way sli is circa 08, you could do quad sli as far back as 05.

My current pc had FX8320 over clocked to 4.1Ghz on stock setting other than the multiplier, GPU is a evga 980 classified with water block. The whole system in passively water cooled.

I'm all good for IDE drives, but thanks anyway.

I got my coolers today and managed to at least mod one CPU to operate in MP mode, but I fucked the other up and its stuck in XP mode and I also touched the links with a tip of a razor blade to try cut the multiplier links and under a fine eye piece magnifier I saw that they are way too small, like 0.1mm pads which ripped off trying to solder on a 0.8? mm long single wisker of wire. The links to be cut had layers of copper under it and all around with same sort of 0.1-0.5mm scales.

I just bought the MP CPUs. and will save me lots of head aches.

I got it running on one CPU super underclocked and the system is behaving weird, does nothing most of the time for about 5min before the post even starts. Just powers up and nothing...... waiting.....................WAITING!! Then it posts and my god does it take its time doing the memory test which btw you can't turn off even if you enable quick boot option? I'd say its because I have only one CPU installed thats a dodgy mod runing like 35% underclocked and the ram modules at random don't allow the machine to start. So I think each module individually is ok but its struggles to start with more than 2-3 installed. I think its really designed to use the RAM for both CPUs when fully populated and there would be memory timing issues for sure being a 200 FSB cpu forced to run at 133.

Well I'll wait for the new CPUs to arrive before moving any further.

yeah I had some xeon servers complete but they just don't interest me, just boring run of the mill crap that seems to be everywhere.

I find the Athlon dual boards very interesting as there is very few of them out there. Its more of a workstation board than a server board with its high end AGP and what not.

k. the 6600 and 8600 are high end workstations from years back.
only PITA is some of the specific shit for them. which is where your AMD boards are cool
i had a dual celeron board aeons ago ; was great - workstation board. really performed well for what it was.

I think there is some problems with the CPU. I could not get it to post untill I physically pulled it out and reinstalled it. Works now but still takes 3-4 min after power up before the post even shows up. No error codes. not even one to say its ok. I tested the speaker but running it without ram and sure enough it beeped straight away. I cut the multiplier bridges and......nothing. still shows as the slow all 1800+ instead of the 2800+ so yeah I have to wait for the MP CPUs.

Also a mate in the US bought me one of these and will post it for me to Oz.

And its my fav brand :D
