Hey guys,
I'm wondering if you can help me out. I have put a Vs s2 engine which has been stroked to 383 and ecm in my Vs s3 ute to be able to Enable the use of the map sensor again. Everything else seems to be working fine bar the temp sensor in the dash. The sensor works as it was working fine on the dyno along with the harness that has been fitted to the car. I'm wondering whether it's a clash between the new ecm and bcm for it not to read or could it be pinned incorrectly in the harness. If you guys have any knowledge on this it would be appreciated

Re: Dash Temp gauge not working
The dash has a separate single wire next to the ECU sender at the front of the intake. Is it connected?

And if it is connected the next step is to earth it out and watch the gauge. It should go the max.

Re: Dash Temp gauge not working
Ok guys, I checked it out, it was connected but I wasn't happy with the connection so I fixed that still didn't work, earthed it out and the temp gauge went straight to Hot.

Re: Dash Temp gauge not working
The gauge is working as it should if it goes to hot (or maximum). If the sensor is ok you'll need to check the wires.

Sounds like it might be a faulty sender unit. Measure the resistance from terminal to a good earth. Not sure what the value should be but at a guess when cold a few hundred ohms.
