if you have an aldl cable, as VN5000 said, I think you are better off just pluggin the memcal into a car and read it using vl400's flash tool. that way, you may be able to read it on your other pc.

Yeah I like VL400s products but I need a solution today. Thanks for pointing it out though

I fuckn hate MemprogL lol. Doesn't matter what I do, it won't do anything it needs to do. Spent a few hours on the phone with a mate that has the same software and chip reader tonight with no resoloution?

Ideas please.....I know the supplier is just going to say "not likely a faulty MemprogL but maybe user error". They are probably right. Can it e the serial port settings on my pooey old Compaq Armada 1750?

I'll try on my I5 core laptop tonight and see how it goes. Could be a goer as what you say makes complete sense

Tried on both my Desktop running XP and my Laptop running an I5 and windows7 but no luck with either.

I select the device type correctly, then select read or verify as a test even and it will not verofy as a standalone function. When I read it the buffer will show that it's read 100% but when it goes to verufy it won't make it past 4%.

Does that give you guys any ideas?

Have you tried going into the bios and changing printer port type ie ecp or bi direction. It wont work if this is not set properly.I remember i had to use a program called port talk to allow access to printer port with a old burner ive got when using xp as well.
