I have painted on the rust converter primer in one where it was rusty and i had ground it back on a 4x4 i had.
Then left it on untouched for over 12 months and drove around and left it out in the weather and it never rusted again.
That other crap that you paint on then wash off i don't know that it works sort of defeats the purpose i won't use it.

well i've been hard at it with the panel work ....

as you know i blanked off the fuel filler on the rear pillar so i thought i'd finish the other side of that job.

if you want to see what this looked like before, go back a page and theres a pic of the parcel tray.

i've mostly completed the making of this panel to seal off the boot - was alot of in/out fit, cut, fit, cut but it fits sweet now!

next step will be to weld it all in.

well i've manged to finish all the rust repairs on the back window, but nothing much to see ... but i have also finally found some bits i've been in need of for ages.

bumpers and grille!!

i did actually want TF/TG bumpers because they are plastic and lighter than the steel ones, but i just can't find any at wreckers etc so i had to settle for TE ones.

Its really strange looking at the car now like this as i've had it for nearly 2 yrs and never had them :wtf:

so most of the work i need to do to run it down the strip is nearly done, i have to finish some primer/paint when the sun comes out  and im going to ring the local andra tech inspector this week and see when he can fit me in for a check over and then hopefully i'll know weather i need to do more stuff or if its ready to race! :driving:

now to save for some pretty mags!

i know what wheels i want, they just cost lots

i figured i'd start with the fronts, some nice 15 x 4 inch wide ones and then worry about the rear afterwards .... im also yet to find out how much traction i'll have aswell as weather i need a taller tyre or not so for that rear i'm going to start with the rears that are on it now.

did a bit of a trial fitting .... mainly wanted to make sure they cleared the VT calipers and they do as they sit out a fair bit, should be just inside the guards with tyres on it!

also got the tailshaft loop ... had a quick look under the car and i reckon the tunnel is going to need some persuasian but shouldn't be too bad, so hopefully fit that in the coming week ... need to get my jack back from my brother!!! slack ass borrowed it a few weeks ago and was going to bring it straight back!!!
