They go by many names, P01, P59, VPW, '0411 etc. Also covering E38 and newer here.

I'm guessing that PCM Hammer's checksum validation code isn't right for that OS. The good news is that checksum validation has already been rewritten for the next release, so this problem should go away. The bad news is that the next release is held up by a problem with P59 flashing.

I just picked up a OBDlink LX and was told it was better since its faster. I tried on PCM hammer and it will load the kernel then hangs and fails to read the bin.

I just got an LX myself. :) I haven't tried it yet but I'm a little surprised that it didn't just work like an SX. Speeds should be in between the SX and the AllPro (closer to the AllPro) when the app supports it.

Perhaps we should release a version with LX support and the checksum fix, ahead of the P59 stuff.

I've been fighting a bad cold for about a week now though.

Old releases are still on GitHub:

Your heath is important :)

I did a test between the SX and the LX and the LX get the kernel faster but it shows that it does not support x4 when it initializes

Yep. None of the scan tools support 4x (afaik, and there is no code for it in pcmhammer), and there is no support for any larger block sizes, or the extended scantool command set. Improvements would be possible (larger blocks for bigger interfaces) or the scantool command set (vs elm) are possible with enough interest and development time.

Wanted to update you guys on the two 4896 ECUs I have been wanting to convert to 0411 OS. I ordered a OBDlink LX after talking to pete and he allowed me to use his LS droid software to flash the 0411 OS to my 4896 ECU. The flash was a success and now PCM Hammer will read and write to the ECU with no issues! Before I would get most of the results under quick comparison showing BAD and not write, but now it shows all GOOD and wrote to the ECU with success. I flashed OS 12212156.

I pulled two more PCM's today.
Anyone have XDF's for either?

One is a 4.8 and the other is a 5.3

The one starting with 2G has OS 12212156.
There's an XDF for that one here: https://github.com/LegacyNsfw/PcmHacks/tree/develop/XDF

The other has 12205612 and I don't know of an XDF for that one.
