Re: PCM Hammer - new ls1 flash tool
Not sure if anyone else has run into this and it wont be a common problem any way. I have the 2 PCMs from my race car and they will not read. They read and write with HP tuners without a problem. they do have a 3 bar OS loaded to them. Logs are attached

Yep - HP tuners are usually tuner locked. There is a process to be able to read them and get out a bin file which can be edited with tunerpro if you find the matching xdf file for the likely COS id on your pcm.
I did it myself when I had to update my diff ratio and speedo/shift settings. Was able to reflash the pcm in recovery mode with the edited bin file - was tuner locked afterwards as before.
Locked Hp Tuner files can only be unlocked by the original tuner with their key stored on the MPV1 tool - usually hard to find if you didn't get the tune originally.
You may be able to do a complete reflash of a standard OS & Calibration over the top if needed - others who've tried may know.

Re: PCM Hammer - new ls1 flash tool
To remove all traces of the COS if you cant use HPT, and if it has a custom key then to restore the factory key with pcm hammer you'd need to flash in another bin files parameter block in recovery mode. Essentially this would clone it back to factory state. You'd then want to also do a full write to remove the COS and calibration.

Glald to hear it!
Free/cheap reflashing tools for Subaru are got me from "gee I wonder how this all works" to "hey I can do this" so I'm basically just paying it forward.

Probably not so much so, Not a fan of the countdown in the Results log, it would be absolutely TOTALLY AWESOME in a status bar though.
-Enjoy

I agree. One step at a time, though.Gampy wrote:Probably not so much so, Not a fan of the countdown in the Results log, it would be absolutely TOTALLY AWESOME in a status bar though.
