when i first put the ecotec in the torana i ran it on an 808 with $12P and map sensor.

pretty much just ran vr v6 tune and tweaked it to suit, there is a $12P tune in the thread for ecotec with 808 ....

if you wanted to run it on an 808 $12P can work with vr/vs anti theft, but i never had to deal with that side of it in the torana.

I did one recently. we put a ecotec motor into a VR auto paddock basher. not for the reason of going mafless, just coz we had that body with a blown engine (big end) and had the ecotec unused just sittin there, so we bolted it into the VR, straight up to the gearbox. Just drilled out the ecotec coolant temp sensor and tapped it to suit the buick sensor (its a lot smaller thread) the crank angle sensor plugged straight into the vr loom, had to extend the tps and IAC wires a bit, then they plugged right in too, unscrewed one of the ecotec knock sensors and used the buick one, mounted up the VR coil pack. everythign was fairly plug and play. just made up a memcal with a fuel map off holden202's $12P ecotec tune and a spark map I calculated to be roughly the map based equivalent of the ecotec MAF tune (the ecotec uses a LOT less spark advance than the buick) now it hoons :D its a great paddock basher.

I know delcowizzid has done the reverse, he took a turbo VS Auto, and Repinned the Ecotec loom to suit the VR auto PCM, then used a 2 bar map sensor and tuned it with the laptop.
