I believe the size check was implemented to try beat random craches/errors due to incorrect messages picked up such as if an 7F error response was received. Also for verifying and checkingall other frames since we should already know there size.

Its more then likely that version 10 doesn't have these checks

I have diffed 10 and 11 and see nothing that should of made the difference, but I could be blind.
Mostly it was a logger diff.

I believe I have found the second and third issues, it's out for testing now ... If I didn't, it's likely going to go BOOM with an array out of bounds!

All the accolades in the world don't mean jack when it's followed by an Aw shit!

Get the Cat O nine out, for a flogging I deserve ... for it is I that introduced at least part of that issue.

Fortunately it's not stone so a little reversion, a twist here and a tweek there and poof all is good!

A PR is soon to come.

TE27Levin,
Thank you very very much for the patience working thru this. :thumbup:
Sorry for the 2 wasted tests, That A < B versus B < A thing really ticked me off and then I missed it twice ... Arrrg.

Glad your truck started ... I was :o and :shock: when you said you did a write so quickly after all that!

I haven't messed with my escalades stock computer, just copied it. I have 4 pcms to do trials on. I already picked which one is going to run my gauges. I am doing the opposite with that pcm boys. I am un LS swaping my vehicle! That said, I am willing to use these other pcms for science! Let me know what you need me to do. I can pop them into my truck to test before the diesel goes in. I can't help with the coding, but I can try some hairy things with these computers and my j2534. Those who dare, win!

antus wrote:Yes obdlink sx, while one of the slowest interfaces, is supported and does work. Pcmhammer will read and write p01 and p59 computers (512kb and 1024kb). You need to find and XDF that suits your operating system to do the tune editing in tunerpro once you've read the bin file. You may decide to change to a different and more common OS if you cant find definitions for yours.
ok. With my computer being an e78, and do I find those P** names? Like, I have no idea what a p01 or p59 come in, what year, or what. Ask me about a Honda or DSM ecu, I can bore you with details, but not these. Lol. Is there any place with a LOT of info that I can read about that stuff? Does mine even have a P number or is it just an E78?

Yup. No go. Flashed back to stock, and pcm hammer times out left and right just reading the vin (read parameters button). Trying to read the ECU says that it cannot unlock the ecu. It would be sweet if I could have the option to just type in my own key, but yeah. I cannot make any use of it. :( with an obdlink sx at least.

I do not know for sure, I believe, but have never seen it officially written,
...P = PCM = Powertrain Control Module.
...E = ECM = Engine Control Module.

They are two different beasts, PcmHammer is only P01/P59 compatible at this time, it will NOT work with that E78, I believe (not sure) that E78 is CAN bus.

I do not know all the details or vehicles that used the P01/P59 but they basically cover the 99-07 range, trucks, vans and V8 cars.

It is and that's what I figured. Looking at the source it's still pretty rad. Nice use of the at command set. Considering obdlink supports K-can, I'm going to hook it up to my Honda and throw some commands at it later today. :)
