They go by many names, P01, P59, VPW, '0411 etc. Also covering E38 and newer here.

I have not, it's going to take some healthy changes and there needs to be some decisions on the best course of action to deal with the issues.

Thinking out loud here ... It's going to require something along the lines of a micro mode36 kernel that can load and execute 'Worker' kernels and or done in Assembly.

My other 2 flashing softwares use a single small kernel to flash, but i get what your saying since the initial upload size is so tiny.

Since you are learning from scratch ... Learn 68k Assembly and do it in that.

That is most likely what those other softwares are using.

Is there a list of acronyms around? I have no idea what a p04 is. I didn't know what a p01 or p59 was till I got to this site, around my neck of the woods they were always called 0411 type red/blue or blue/green. I thought most of the v-6's were blue/clear, then I saw same physical enclosure and year duramax and it was blue/clear. I hear something about a p11 and p12 I think. Then there's the acronyms for the australia cars that elude me too.

Thanks for that. I believe that's what is in my "in town" beater '03 grand prix, never looked. Were these pcm's ever used in Australia? If so, did they have lean cruise over there? Your post hints that it is a 28f400???
