one big thing i have found with my new laptop compared to the old one was battery life.

a while back i spent 4 hours on a dyno with my laptop on the whole time and i was surprised the laptop did it without needing to charge and i still had 15% life left in it.

this is perfect for things like dyno and when im at the drags etc, so thats something to keep in mind depending what you'll be using it for.

what model? i was looking at this one or better http://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers/hp/1 ... sku-86670/
A HP 2730p with a internal 6 cell battery, then another flat pack 6 cell underneath, it's still extremely light and i can go about 8hrs tuning in saver mode.

Keep any eye out for any kind of g-force sensor on the hard disk. Can cause problems when logging in a car due to bumps.

Its not just toshibas, I think it may be HPs as well.

Maybe look at SSD (solid state drive) got this in my netbook and performs very well, no need to worry about bumps and better still no moving parts. Powers up fully (Win 7 pro) in about 20 seconds and complete shutdown in about 7 seconds. :driving:
