Re: VP V6 Auto - TunerproRT OSE$12 i'm stumped
Well that didn't do much. Back to the drawing board.

Would a cable that I used for the 808 and WinAldl work for 305 and Tunerpro?

Probably not as they can generally only listen. You need a bi-directional ALDL interface, most (or maybe even all) 160baud ALDL interfaces are uni-directional as the ECU would send data without needing to request it like you do with 8192baud ALDL.

Well that makes sense, any changes I can make to my cable to make bi-directional? Or is there one I can buy?VL400 wrote:Probably not as they can generally only listen. Not sure, it depends on what parts it has it might be able to be modded. Most are just a couple of transistors, in which case would need to pretty much redesign the whole thing.
There are interface boards to suit 8192baud here..
RS232 - https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=396
USB - https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=164
USB over vehicle data interface (VR and later have the connector under the steering column) - https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=622

If I bought one the above items, I would still need the cable. I currently have 305 (which is 8192 capable), just need a way to communicate with the laptop.VL400 wrote:Not sure, it depends on what parts it has it might be able to be modded. Wire this inside the ECU .. https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=164. Gives you a USB port on the side of the ECU, plug in the supplied USB cable and the other end to a laptop and you can log it

How hard is it to install the USB board?
How long is the supplied cable?

2 wires to solder and some case drilling, or can send me you ECU and can install it. If you dont want to solder it inside can wire it to pin A8 and a ground and mount the board elsewhere, all depends on what setup you have in the car and how you want to use it. The supplied USB cable is 1.5M but can use any off the shelf USB A to USB B cable (same as most printers) if you want one thats longer.

Is that $70 send to you, or $70+ send to you?
