The PCS current error is caused by the PCM detecting a large difference in current through the PCS circuit than it is commanding.
-The PCM controls the current through the solenoid by varying the duty cycle of a PWM output.
-The PCM measures the average voltage (across a shunt?) to determine the current flowing through the solenoid circuit.
The PCM the adjusts the output PWM duty cycle based on the error between Commanded current & Actual current and a few other parameters (transmission fluid temperature related).
So I would be thinking faulty wiring or solenoid, but you may also want to check the transmission fluid temp sensor too as that is used for the calcs.

GOT IT, GRRRRRR
Bloody hack job.
At the back of the motor there is a " T " in the main loom. On closer inspection there appeared to be just a bit more insulation tape than normal.
Opening up 2 wires had been "rejoined".
Put it this way. If you join two wires together, don't just put a spot of solder on it. Cover the freaking things properly with solder then clean the bloody dags of, use heat shrink internally in a loom .
Power supply to transmission and VSS return were shorting intermittantly. Also one of the PCS wires had been rubbed/melted through to the conductor as well.
Small enough short not to blow a fuse giving the game away.
Nearly finished the VT loom.

Nice find, always a time consuming task tracking down things like that

i feel your pain man, had my mate ask me to help with a car he had in the workshop that wouldn't start properly and was doing funky stuff ....Spin wrote:On closer inspection there appeared to be just a bit more insulation tape than normal.![]()

long story short, engine bay loom swap before the car came to my mates workshop, cut at under the brake booster and new loom "spliced in" every join was twisted together then electrical tape, no soldering at all, also didn't help that the 3 yellow wires in the loom wern't on the right ones
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: VS V6 Problems.
Well,
It may "appear" that owing to the 4l60e in a fraction of a second "may" have destroyed a
clutch plate in 3rd-4th pack.
I tried unpluging the loom from the box and driving it but,
still is only in second.
To the unknown, doing this will make the PCM crack up but the box will default to 3rd and reverse.
What a F***up. I wish I knew the B***ard or what ever did this.
