Thanks for all the answers everyone , the sleeve point is a good one and no I didn't see one on the existing , the current one is old and worn , I have asked the owner to get a new one to compare.
The output shaft is the same shape of a parallel screwdriver blade, so that you need to position the tps so that it is preloaded , in the throttle closed position.
Oh and vlad01 when you have the same fault did you happen to notice whether your idle control valve was working at the time ?
