so what im suggesting is to turn the ignition on to where it would be if the car was running, then use a screw driver to short the starter motor, it should crank and run all being equal, and that will then tell you all the wiring and everything is all working fine other than the start circuit, just a way to narrow it down.

I wish, I still haven't finished the fuel tank... so it wont run but I was hoping to get it to at least crank

well then i'd suggest looking at the circuit from the relay to the starter solenoid then!

Yeah that's what I've been looking at. I was also hoping efi live would lead me in the right direction except I'm not getting anything or errors from any sensors.

Yep I agree it could really only be a few small things as the vats must be turning off to get the relay to click.
1 The red wire that goes from terminal 30 on the relay to the main fuseable link.Put a meter or a test light in there and it should be alive all the time.
2 The purple wire that goes from terminal 87 on the relay to the starter.
3 starter motor but as 202 says you can check this by jumping the solenoid.
4 Relay itself

Did you plug in the two pin plug that connects the starter relay/alternator charge wire to the body loom? It's usually located under the fuse/relay box in the engine bay. I think it's grey.
I missed this when I did an engine swap and was scratching my head for ages.

Does that plug have a thick purple white stripe and a brown wire out of it?

Can't remember the colours for sure but sounds about right. The engine side of the plug goes into the high current loom (the big battery cable that goes to the starter)

Yes they are the colors for that plug.
Purple solenoid wire and brown alt reg bat+.
