what has been done to your motor?? what are all these items you have changed so much ? if its only a stock series 1 v6, I highly recommend just writing over the entire cal with the apnx tune, there are many things different. all you need to bugger round with after that is commanded fuel, VE, spark, rev limit. most other items you dont need to touch and risk making it run worse by changing them.

one thing i've seen on the one im playing with, needs more AE to stop it stumbling when jabbing the throttle, assuming this is from the extra crank load from the blower.

I would add that I recommend to get the knock sensor working again. you only need 2 things for it to work. knock filter (plug the v6 memcal into the back of the nvram board) and knock sensor on the block (which is factory on all v6's) then bring the esc temp back down. I highly recommend doing this if you are going to be buggering round with the advance map.

the reason it was pulling timing is that if you have the filter board missign OR the knock sensor disconnected, the ecu will act as if its detecting knock all the time and just peg the retard at full all the time.

its like all the V6 sprintcar boys, they don't like the knock sensor cause it pulls timing halfway down the straight, so they disconnect it ....not realising they just make it into a dog and also probably lost alot of safety!

My assumptions regarding the knock sensor was based on information from my mate who made my NVRAM unit. He seems pretty bang on with this stuff, so I wasn't really in the mind to question him. The NVRAM PCB that he's made up looks a bit different than the PCM ones, I'm not sure if you can 'plug' the memcal back into it. I could always check though.

The things that I've changed and taken a while to get right have been have mainly been based around rdsc/tip in bump and the TCC lock/unlock settings, as there is a very particular way that I wish my car to respond, ect. I guess I can just flash it over and change what I think needs to be changed.

If I manage to get this memcal onto the Nvram unit. Does that mean I'd then be able to see the knock retard? That's almost literally why I bought it in the first place as it's something that I wanted to go through little bit by little bit to perfect!

yes! you will be able to see the knock retard. and even if you cant plug it in. you can certainly wire a knock board onto your nvram pcb manually....

My friend that built the Nvram unit said that he'll solder the knock board onto the NVRAM PCB for me (good bloke!).

Are you certain I'll be able to see knock retard? It doesn't matter tooooooooooo much as I'll be getting it chucked on so I can't asplode my motor, but damn it'd be awesome...

like previously said, assuming the nvram is the only reason its not working now, then it should work once the knock filter is soldered onto it...

if not then you might have to go chasing wiring to make sure the knock sensor and wiring is connected.

as far as exploding your motor, I don't think you'll have too many issues of that with it being 10 degrees retarded at the moment :P

I unretarded it for 1337 mad skiddies :P.

The knock board is being chucked on now. I'm certain the sensor is wired up as on my old ecu I'd never had the knock loop cel, so that's a positive sign.

Thanks for your help guys, will let you know how it goes!
