There is no loom for it so I'm trying to get it going by itself to fit it to my dash in the vk

You might need to flash a VS3 calibration to get the speedo output working from the ECU

The car runs great though and doesn't have any running issues ,basically it's a vk with a vt block and getrag290 with 98 vs v8 auto ute used as the donor for all the loom and gear etc

Get a Dakota Digital SGI5E. Convert the signal type and the pups count all in one.

Had vs s3 manual in lc torrie...not looked in awhile vaguely remember manual harness & ecu different to auto also read somewhere here that signal of speedo sensor is different.
When first got mine running couldn't fit speedo sensor in torrie tunnel so would intermittently pop up that fault code...rare occasions stalled when stopping at slow speeds.Never happened with sensor fitted after tunnel was clearanced.
Can't recall if it was a vs v8 diagram thread or conversion forum.
So I'd say something like signal convertor as Dylan suggested & memcal modded to suit manual.
