Re: 2000 s10 pcm issues
I looked at the issue, and the checksum2 is a cvn checksum used for display only, figuring if file is stock or modified[it is not part of bin file, and it is not normal not to be saved]
However, there is some other issue with setting the p08 DTC in tuner, changes don`t get saved[a bug].
Temporary workaround is to change DTC in patcher window in dtc tab, until a fix for editing in Tuner is found.

Re: 2000 s10 pcm issues
Do your saying the work around is to create a patch rather than trying to edit the file in tuner? Just making sure i understood that rightkur4o wrote: Sun Aug 16, 2026 9:01 pm I looked at the issue, and the checksum2 is a cvn checksum used for display only, figuring if file is stock or modified[it is not part of bin file, and it is not normal not to be saved]

You can edit and debug DTCs from this window too. No need to create patches.

i got another question for you if you would be so kind im trying to load my now fixed .bin into the pcm if i let it do on its own it tries to write it as a p04 and i get this error message [18:53:42.378] Unlock succeeded.
[18:53:42.396] Attempting switch to VPW 4x
[18:53:42.424] Module 0x10 (engine controller) has agreed to enter high-speed mode.
[18:53:44.635] Loaded Loader-P04.bin (597 bytes)
[18:53:44.639] Loader MD5=71E6F9B3DC5D5B31B4BAAB9018B3B870
[18:53:44.642] Kernel loader loaded from file.
[18:53:44.655] PCM uses a kernel loader.
[18:53:44.657] Requesting upload permission.
[18:53:44.676] Upload permission granted.
[18:54:38.486] Failed to upload loader to PCM
[18:54:38.489] Elapsed time 00:00:56.1078047
if i try to force it as a p08 it gets stuck on the this isnt the correct file type and could brick your pcm

Re: 2000 s10 pcm issues
Can you post a debug log of the pcm being successfully read? I'd like to add the OSID and figure out the correct security algo to PCM Hammer. Thanks!
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

Re: 2000 s10 pcm issues
Perfect. That explains that it's just a P08 OSID mis-categorised as P04. I've updated it in PCM Hammer and it'll be in the next release. You should not need to brute force or override the key. It is just the standard P08 key and when it's working as P08 it'll unlock automatically. You can get a beta version with the fix here https://github.com/PcmHammer/PcmHammer/ ... 1988053749
It'll be about another 20 minutes from my post before github has finished building it, and you need a github account and to be logged in to get it. If you are not logged in you'll see it but dont get the download link. You can get the setup or the portable version from the bottom of that page depending on which you prefer. If you used the setup previously, stick with that and install over the top.
