Sorry for the spelling mistake with your user name delco. It's been a while since since I've seen the car run, but I'll try & get him tomorrow depending on his kids sport.

Should the engine still run with a 2 bar sensor & a std ATFY chip?

nope
you need the get something like $12P which can handle having a 2/3bar map sensor plugged into it ... having said that you stilll need to let the tune know you have plugged it in.
there is also a $5D 2bar tune out there, but its not that good because it has alot less clarity in the ve/spark tables due to being a hacked 2bar file.
so i guess the short answer is, if you have put a 2bar map sensor on and your running atfy then thats probably why its not running!

The map sensor is new & I'm just trying to test it to ensure it's ok. What do I do to a $12P tune to operate with a 2bar map & boost?

in the flags section there is options to tick/untick depending if you want 1 / 2 / 3 bar map sensor.
map a settings are the normal ones, only need map b if you have the map switch connected.
so you can see above, if you untick both selection A & B you have 1 bar, tick A and untick B you have 2 bar sensor, untick A and tick B and you have 3 bar!

I've been playing with the this car today. I've put it on petrol(so I don't waste alcy), fitted the 2 bar sensor & made a chip. This bin was the n/a methanol bin that was working ok with some changes for petrol. I can get it to fire & idle for a couple of seconds then it stops. It will run with the sensor hose disconnected. I also tried the "$12P - v1.04 - turbo vn v6 - 2bar base tune" but it tries to fire but not much else. Can someone please have a look at the bin for me & tell me were I'm going wrong. Thanks in advance.

havent looked at much else but you have got it set for 3 bar. you need to to have the first one ticked and the second one UNticked to set it to 2 bar.
