Sorry mate it is a vx dash with chip on top not bottom like the vt i confused myself.
You will need a NEC mcu type programmer.
Vx clusters are a pain.
i would look for a vt s2 3 window if you can find a cheap enough one. your programmer can do those eproms.
Or find a NEC mcu type programmer.

Get the first NEC programmer, the second one looks like an overpriced version of the first.. and requires a serial cable connection as well anyways so theres no upside of it.

I would recommend the GQ-4X Willem, I use that and its lightening quick and does pretty much anything you would deal with! Yeah its more expensive but if your dealing with clusters ect, your more then likely going to deal with a few different eeproms and youll want to be certain that the info you read is correct.

As for what else you will need, obviously youll need a computer with a RS232 port (serial cable port) to use the NEC programmer, most new computers do not have these so youll need either need a really old computer that still has one or will need to find a usb to serial device to use with a modern laptop.

Would also say invest into a temperature controllable soldering ion, rather be safe then overheating a eeprom/nec chip.

Good to here you got a working computer with serial port, comes in handy these days!

Some people have had luck with onboard read/write, others havent. All depends on the device that you use I think. Hopefully its the case where the more expensive device is more capable!. Otherwise may need to introduce a bit more power with a 12V+ power supply if the board is sucking away too much power during reading.

Im assuming you also have an eeprom clip? I havent actually tried to read the eeprom onboard of a vt/vx cluster, But I know it definitely works onboard for vy/vz/ve clusters.

where did you get all these hex value locations ? (since i'm the only one with bins from a vx with a nec mcu) don't match, vt and vx clusters are different and, vx clusters being unique, you're missing a lot, the clusters stores its own fault codes and you have no airbag numbers, also hex values are reversed in locations between the vt and vx
