VT-VX Clusters
I've Been mucking around with the VY-VZ clusters & have made a nice xdf for them(see attached), but still a lot more can be added if anyone else has any other locations or info!
Now I've updated the software for GQ programmer it can now read the 93S56 eeprom for the VT-VX clusters(see attached 2 dumps).
it seems the vt-vx have a lot different info though so again if anyone has more info to let me know it would be great to make an xdf! it seems the odo might be similar to later 1's but it has 8 less bytes & calculations don't seem to add up as I think both the single & triple LCD dumps would be around 200,000kms & they add up to around 700,000kms if using the later model method!
Cheers VX L67 Getrag

Re: VT-VX Clusters
looks like this is a hot topic... LMAO
anyway most of the VY-VZ stuff is pretty sorted would still be good to know more address points & locations!
The VT-VX far from sorted... I cant seem to write to the M93S56 chips will on the board I've tried applying extra 9v to the GQ programmer while writing & still has errors writing some sections! I took the chip off the board & changed it & soldered it back on but it's a pain & now I cant get clip to read while it's on the board(which you can do fine 100% of the time normally but I'm guessing because I've moved pins when un-solder than solder back on it has bad connections with clip adapter!
anyway would be good if someone with more smarts than me could figure out how there making the odo calculations I'm pretty sure it's the first 2 lines of dump but no idea how the calculation is worked out?
I've attached screeny's of the dumps & what those figures come up as when cluster gets powered up!
If someone knows of something else to try writing to the M93S56 eeprom while on the board would be good too!

Re: VT-VX Clusters
could only add 6 attachments so here's another 2, I'm thinking the more I had to show the easier it may be to figure out the calculation?

Re: VT-VX Clusters
BIG UPDATE....
Unsoldered wrote the same bin with all 2B67 for first 15 double bytes & just added 1 hex to the very last digit so changed 16th double byte to 2B68 & the odo reading came DOWN 1km!
Hoping someone can figure maths theory to know how it calculates???
So 16 double bytes of 2B67 = 869,344Kms
& 15 double of 2B67 & 1 double of 2B68 = 869,343Kms
Hopefully someone can figure it out as it's painful soldering on & off, well actually soldering on is easy its more unsoldering does anyone have anytips for this I've tried solder wick but it doesn't remove all of it, so with what's left I heat up solder & gently pry EEPROM up, but legs aren't going to last long doing it that way!

Re: VT-VX Clusters
This is off my original topic but anyway....
seems I stumbled across the VSS ratio purely for VY-VZ cluster so no need for speedo healer if diff changed, can leave it so dash gets corrected but all the gear shifts for the PCM should stay the same I assume.. but that can make as ass out of u & me!LOL

can't you just solder something like this on to the board, will make it a lot quicker.

Re: VT-VX Clusters
yeah I have 1 of them on my watched list, but don't really know how much further I can go with this, as I don't have a VT to test anything on, I'm just stuck to a bench with power up option only!
It doesn't seem there's much interest for me to follow it up any further?
I have definitely tweaked the cluster VSS ratio in the right direction for VY-VZ, just need to log the PCM now & make sure it hasn't changed that!

Re: VT-VX Clusters
Definitely interested in this thread!, would also love to figure out vy/vz clusters including custom start up screens

Re: VT-VX Clusters
i will soon be able to program the clusters that have the NEC MCU
good old holden doing their dodgy stuff again ... those cluster boards were fitted to US cars and used here in AUS as a way to save money
there's nothing special about them and used in many cars overseas , once i get enough BIN files i'll offer them here with correct ODO and AIRBAG numbers
