i agree and while your at it get the latest version of $12P - v1.10!

change the map sensor to 2 bar, get it running and revving fine on that....

then while its still on petrol, put the bigger injectors in, change the inj rate to suit and get it back to above...... once thats done, hook up the map switch, set all the map b tables to have methanol afr's then try methanol!!!

don't worry about changing timing for methanol, get it working fine then start adding timing, stock timing will work fine just not get as much out of methanol as more timing would!

big suggestion is do that after the engine has been warmed up on petrol, because methanol is a biatch to start cold, especially if you've had sleet tonight!!!!

then hopefully enjoy methanol burning your eyes :D

I must be doing something wrong or missing something. I used the "$12P - v1.10" as suggested, ticked the 2 bar & it starts,runs for 3 seconds then stops. While it does run it sounds ok. Should the "VE-20-100kpa" & the "VE-boost" tables have the same figures? The boost VE is full of 79.69. I've also tried the "$12P - v1.04 - turbo vn v6 - 2bar base tune" as down loaded, it runs for about 3/4 seconds. :wall: The xdf is OSE_12PV110.xdf , is this correct?

Your really going to need to get some datalogs to see what is happening. It sounds like there is more than just a basic tune problem if the BLCD bin does not work. While the tune is not 100% perfect (small stumble off idle) it would certainly be enough to get the engine running pretty well and not die after a few seconds.

The boost VE needs to be tuned to suit your engine, the values in there are just to fill the table with data. When it does get up and running I would also suggest changing the boost spark advance table, copying all the 20-100kPa values over is not going to work too well at keeping the engine internals, internal.

If I fit the 2 bar sensor+BLCD 2 bar chip to a n/a engine in a VP Commo, should the engine run? If so I can fit it to my son's VP when he shows up later. I fitted the std map with the 2bar BLCD chip & the blown engine runs, not great but doesn't stop.

I've done some further testing.
Blown motor
OSE_$12P_BLCD_V6 with std map =runs with a big dead spot above idle.
OSE_$12P_BLCD_V6 with 2bar map =runs 2/3 seconds & stops
OSE_$12P_BLCD_V6 2bar ticked+std map =runs but not very well
OSE_$12P_BLCD_V6 2bar ticked+2bar map=runs 2/3 seconds & stops
OSE_$12P_BLCD_V6 3bar ticked+2bar map= doesn't start(in case we were given 3bar map not 2bar)
N/A std VP Commodore
OSE_$12P_BLCD_V6 with std map
OSE_$12P_BLCD_V6 with 2bar map= starts then stops. similar to the blown motor.
Std BAAM with 2bar map =starts then stops. similar to the blown motor
Not sure if I can log anything, as the lap top doesn't seem to be able to pick up the ALDL info. Maybe a prob with the docking station as the network cable(internet) works when plugged into laptop but not the docking station. I don't have a serial to USB adapter.
I've fixed a few stuff ups with my post.

I read your testing to indicate that by changing only the MAP sensor, without any programming change, there was no percieved difference. Then when the 2bar option was ticked in the tune, it would not run properly with either sensor installed.

If that correct?

If so, the only conclusion I can draw is the supposed 2 bar sensor is in fact a standard 1 bar sensor.


Have you tried putting the 2 bar sensor into the standard VP, with std vp tune?
This would confirm that the MAP sensor is/is not a 1bar sensor.

I've purchased a USB Comms board from VL400 which arrived on Thursday, which I've fitted to the 808 ecm. I also downloaded TunerPro RT(instead of TunerPro). Which .ads do I use to datalogue with these bins?
