FX Holden Race Car Project
Re: FX Holden Race Car Project
Would've looked good beside the Brumby at the 6 Banger Nats.

Re: FX Holden Race Car Project
Assembled the rack for a trial fit of everything, all looks really good
i'm not sure about the length of the rack ends though, the tie rods only go on about 5-6 turns, just not sure if that's enough .... but will see how it all sits with the engine in and the cross member at normal height as the top control arms are not shimmed or anything at the moment.
im also on the hunt for a vb-vk intermediate shaft, i thought i had one but i can't seem to find anything!

looks good ,even looks like geometry for no bump steer is close .I would like more than 5 threads in the tie rods ,you could cut them and add a sleeve to lengthen them.

Thats looking awesome
Agree, 5-6 turns is a bit borderline. But would make for some excitement if its not enough

Re: FX Holden Race Car Project
See if you can find tie rod ends that are longer that will fit the arm and has the same treads.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Which model are your current tie rods from? VR/VS are slightly wider than VN/VP.

Re: FX Holden Race Car Project
as far as i am aware its a VB-VK rack .... i need to do some research, because the one in dads FB ute im sure has more length on the rack ends than mine ....
i also might need to lay the rack back a bit too as the steering knuckle might hit the oil pump due to it being so far back ... anyways time will tell, either way very happy with how its all sitting at the moment!
