Maybe you could try putting the chip back in the dash to check it still works and hasnt been corrupted.

all i can think of then is it's the serial to usb convertor your using or are you using straight serial? i used min on a convertor..

I have been using a straght serial cable off com1

Have just installed a usb to serial on com3. Looks better but still not pulling in the correct data.

Also will not write, even tried a blank chip and changed only one bit, still would not write.

So have tried 3 computers 2 different connections types 4 differnt computer chips including blank.

The1@ what are your settings com3 SI Prog API ?

yep that's it, should also have nothing ticked for the polarity of the control lines, im on win7 x64, im on 2.07c

Okay, that is the same as the current system.

Dumb question maybe, device is x2444 eeprom / x2444

do you have some other program you can recommed that I can try?

no it's only program that i know of that will work with x24c44 chip.

what about the com port setting.

bits per second : 9600
data bits : 8
parity : none
stp bits : 1
flow control : None

yeh same here, dunno what's going on, working fine here :hmm: So in the program youve got X2444 eeprom and x2444 in the two drop downs?

See images, a second question is do you need to change all 3 sections with the new hex numbers?

Also a question about the main check digit, what if the numbers add up to more the 15, you can not have a negative ? ie 999999 when you add 9+9+9 = 27 ^15 = -11 ?
