So it should b a flash pcm being a dtcf? looking at the results in the memcal idtool none of the numbers match up with what i have here but anyway.
i guess ill swap them over and do a couple of get bins from it, then hope that writing down the full bin from my original pcm works ok.
Any advice or cautions i should do before swapping them over?
thanx again

Not sure why your going backwards, you already connected to it & got the bin, why are you swapping PCM's?
What are you trying to achieve you were worried about knock that you were seeing in the log!?

Im going off the advice of vl400 on using the The FlashTool V1.20 with flash pcm's.
And the knock retard i haven't worked out what's going on there. ive looked at other logs from people on here with similar vehicles it looked like its common, im not trying to say thats its safe just hoping its not an issue?

I personally use flashtool 1.41 for the flash pcm's it was good as it has the ability to correct checksum without having to re-write again.
But you can just use the 1 PCM & do write cal only it's a lot quicker & easier!
yeah the knock thing is normal, just need to increase ignore time if it's false knock!

gday
vl400s write up he was referring to v1.20. ive actually got v1.45 if it has the corrections for the checksum it should make it fairly straight forward.
increasing ignore time might be the first thing i adjust.
thanx

You can use 1.45 but I've found it has extra code that makes it a bit clunkier, so use 1.41 but it may not be around to download so whatever works!
You need to make sure it's false knock, but yeah if your sure add time where needed!

If its just the write up mentioning v1.20 then use the current release flashtool. If you find a problem report it and VL400 will fix it, but I expect it'll work fine. The current one should do everything the earlier ones did, and then some. Running old software puts you at risk of of hitting old bugs that have since been fixed (not that I am aware of any in the flash tool, new releases support more features and newer versions of pcm software).
