The kits are made to order and as far as I'm aware there's no tunnel mods needed but if that's not the case then no dramas I'll just mod the tunnel to suit, Its getting bw78 mini tubs and 4 link so modding a tunnel is nothingfirebug wrote:Holden202T wrote:does the conversion kit come with larger transmission tunnel ?Oh here we go...!ecomoo wrote:No trans tunnel mods needed, just need to move the bake booster over a little bit and the rest is bolt in![]()
Might depend on the kit. Engine mounts to suit a conversion using 4L60e would require a smaller sump pan, moving the engine/trans forward enough to get proper clearance in the tunnel than if you were using a T700. 4L60e casing is a bit bigger...
Cool ute by the way...

Re: VT V6 into Gemini
yeah its not so much of an issue, its more that everyone we talked to said it just bolted straight in, but it was far from that in reality
Firebug had a buick and T700 in it which fitted nicely and then when we put the L67 in it we needed to get it back about two more inchs to meet up with engine mounts from the buick, which required alot of tunnel / firewall mods and some to the sump ....
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

When I ordered the kit (V6 Conversions) I was asked what engine/trans im using as they make the sump to suit, anyhow i'll find out soon enoughHolden202T wrote:yeah its not so much of an issue, its more that everyone we talked to said it just bolted straight in, but it was far from that in realityFirebug had a buick and T700 in it which fitted nicely and then when we put the L67 in it we needed to get it back about two more inchs to meet up with engine mounts from the buick, which required alot of tunnel / firewall mods and some to the sump ....

Can I suggest before you go too far you contact your nearest vehicle certifier (St Georges Basin) and run this project via him because under the regs it might be very difficult to be registered in NSW.

This will be the 8th car (of my own) that I've built to be engineeredCharlescrown wrote:Can I suggest before you go too far you contact your nearest vehicle certifier (St Georges Basin) and run this project via him because under the regs it might be very difficult to be registered in NSW.

Can go 4l Na in a Gemini in NSW
Last one I did was a 28 Ford roadster and before that an 81 Sigma with a 351

Obviously I don't have a bottle connected on the street, plenty of police have looked at the car and only one asked if it was connectedimmortality wrote:With nitrous, didn't think that was legal in Aussie on a road car?
