Definitely all of the above :(

Gonna have to fit a SSD drive in this machine to crank it up a bit.

I've dropped the max processor speed to 50% on the old laptop to see if that makes any difference. I'd like to keep it working and dedicate it to tuning/automotive stuff.

sorry for the lateness.
i'd re-do the thermal paste between heatsink and CPU. thats too hot. and like chuff showed, make sure that the airflow is not restricted.
