Going to be (hopefully) A2A cooling my VS L67 early next year.

For ease of tuning (mainly the MAP based tuning), would like to set it up to run a VR manual ECU, and OSE 12P.

From reading through a few threads, I've got a few questions.

1. With the setting enabled for VS anti-theft, will the VR ecu speak to BCM no problems?

2. Will I lose any functionality of the Level 3 dash?

3. The high speed fan will run of the ECU, via a Flex lookup table? Will the BCM still be right with the low speed fan part of it?

4. I am running a twin exhaust. What to do about o2 sensor?

5. I will lose sequential injection?

Sure will, so long as you use a modified 808 with SXR emulator or VR/VS manual ECU they are all going to work the same for that.

12P can output the fuel use PWM signal the the dash uses for fuel economy calcs, I am not sure what else the level 3 needs to work though.

12P has a regular high speed fan control output still but the low speed fan code has been replaced by a flex output. This can be maybe be used for fan control however there is no hysteresis for on/off control - ie on at 85deg and off at 80deg. The BCM wont be able to control the low speed fan as 12P does not output the low speed fan on/off command via ALDL like the factory VS ecotec ECU.

as far as the engine fan goes, i guess if you really want two speeds then yeah use flex table and $12P high speed settings, but if you don't have a need for both speeds just do what i did and connect the high and low together so its just flat out all the time.

I've noticed two minor ADX errors in the OSE_12P V111.zip in the first post of this thread -
The message6 adx has a packetbodylength of 11 (should be 12), and the Petrol adx has the math equation 0x31 (the packet offset value) for engine run time - or is this deliberate?
I also saw that the Boost Multiplier math equation is 0x00 for the 1 bar petrol adx - is that to enforce a zero value and ignore the ALDL data for non-boosted applications, or should it be set to "X / 2.56" like the 2 and 3 bar, seeing as the message packet contains a zero value for it anyway?

Hi,
Can anyone tell me what ACSP coolant sensor flag is for ?
is it to select bosch or delphi coolant sensor ?

Yeah selects a different type of sensor and then uses a different lookup table for the voltage to temp translation.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but believe it may be if you change from the IAT in the air box to then go to the tapped thread type in the manifold itself?

According to the kalmaker manuals "Allows an AC coolant sensor to be used instead of the factory Bosch sensor."

The only other place Ive seen it discussed was Peter (of Techedge) who queried it here 11 years ago:

As VL400 says though, Its just a flag to use 2nd lookup table values so you can have 2 calibrations for different sensor types in your tune and toggle the flag to swap between them. Its not really needed, but I guess since it was there in the Holden code it just still is.

I would like to know if AC means AC/Delco, and thus was in the SDK that came from Delco, but Holden used the Bosch item instead and set the flag, and populated the 2nd table. Is there such a thing as an AC (air conditioner) temp sensor? I reckon its gotta be AC Delco...
