so been ripping in to this thing when I get the time, which hasn't been a lot lately, or when I do its too late to grind etc!

so I've ordered a dominator 2000-2200rpm converter, nothing special just a bit more to get it off the line and it will also be fitted with kevlar lockup clutch for added load capability.

I've also fitted the commodore wiper motor and other than a small cut to the mounting plate it pretty well bolted straight on!

there was nothing wrong with the Bedford wiper motor and it worked with the wiring on it originally, but a lot of people on the Bedford forums recommend replacing it with the commodore unit and it is also slightly faster on both speeds so probably for the best in the long run, also means now if it fails I have a spare one I can bolt straight in!

I also peeled back the wiring loom and pulled the wiper wiring through from the engine bay to the other side of the firewall grommet, so its all under the dash where the wiper motor is now.

I've made some progress on the brakes, I've had to file about 5mm slots in the firewall holes then the commodore brake booster bolts straight up!

I've just today purchased a rose joint that will go on the end of the shaft after I shorten it and tap a thread on to it, then it will slot straight into the original Bedford pedal assembly .... then all that's left will be brake lines and they will be the easiest part :P

when I have been able to grind I have also been working on patching up the floor and starting to make an engine cover to fit the V8.

plan is to have the top of it flat to work as a console and the whole cover will be removable without too much effort to allow easy access to the motor for servicing etc.

What about thus for a cover http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/130435156361?_mwBanner=1 still got an area that you can fit a plate over and have a flat surface
Looking good though

if it was $100 I'd probably look at it :)

that's a Bedford forum guy that sells them, I kinda would also prefer steel one too but thanks for the suggestion!

The bedford was made for a Commodore conversion! Spare parts, if needed, will be a breeze now.

yeah that's the whole idea, make it modern/reliable but also have it easy to get parts when needed.

also in the case of a lot of the stuff I've done, brakes, wiring, wipers etc I have at least one spare of a lot of them!! hehe ... yes I have too much shit in my shed!

I can't even remember what this booster/master is off, but I have a feeling it was a VC-VK model from quite a few years back that's been sitting there for "one day"

If the fluid reservoir fits your VS master (if you still have it?), I have a VT one here that will make the lid and fluid sit level.

But a VS V6 plastic booster and VT master would be a good upgrade, and running VT calipers the pedal will be spongy on the current master. It all bolts in place of the early style. Brake line flares differ to pre VP master cyl (I think) but you need to make them anyway.

EDIT: actually your not using the bracket on the back of the booster anymore are you? VS boster does not have that so maybe not so easy!

yeah I have removed the rear bracket .... looking at getting a VK 1 inch master actually .... main reason looking at that is because it will have the old school flares that I have a flaring tool for :)

and yeah didn't get the booster/master off the VS, I will sus it out, if the VT one fits that would be the go to get it nice and flat!

VT was made to sit flat. Ive done what VL400 said when fitting to pre VT.
Fit the VS reservoir looks stock. I can get pic if you want?

Id recommend using VT master and booster very strongly they are very powerfull units with great pedal feel.
Ive used 1" masters with braided lines and still not as good.

I went as far as getting a 1" 1/16 master made up, still wasnt right with the VT calipers.

Now with a VS V6 booster and VT fast fill master its perfect. The VS master is apparently also fast fill (or stepped bore), its just smaller internally.
