Thanks but i should of mentioned that low speed fan is now set to 151 and high speed set to around 95.
Even from cold these fans come on. Both are now wired to the high speed output.

Re: VT V6 Conversion
Regardless of the temperature settings, if the BCM is not communicating with the ECU over the ALDL data bus the high speed fans will automatically be engaged by the ECU. This is why your fans are currently running all the time.
To stop this happening, disable DTC92.

Re: VT V6 Conversion
No worries thanks. Any idea why it might of had this problem with the bcm connected?
It started so must of been communicating with bcm? Engine light was not on previously.

Re: VT V6 Conversion
Not really.
Normally a sign that there's no communication between bcm and ecu.
If you already had VATS disabled the vehicle still would have started with or without the bcm present.

Re: VT V6 Conversion
Before today it was standard memcal with bcm connected. Fans were running but not sure which one or both.
No abs connected though.
Today is new chip no bcm but high speed fan on. I will take the laptop out to check codes.
Engine runs fine though.

Re: VT V6 Conversion
what about the A/C switch, I know that turns fans on earlier than normal in earlier model cars ... ?
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: VT V6 Conversion
looked up DTC92
The DTC 92 will set if the PCM sends out the message to the BCM to turn "ON" the engine cooling fan low speed relay and the BCM does NOT send a message back to the PCM.
So yeh would either be low speed fan needing to be on or A/C is commanded on. Low speed fans are set high so will not trigger, so unless the coolant sensor is faulty or bad connection or A/C is being triggered then they shouldn't be running.
