This is a logworks log and a Tunerpro log from the same holden v8. Logworks is using a innovate ssi-4 and a lc1 wideband.
The rpm signal for logworks is connected up at the ecu and feed into the ssi-4, as well as map sensor and TPS.

Any ideas whats going on there? ive tried new earths to ecu and the ignition module but its still the same.
Thought maybe the ecu works off the rising edge of the rpm signal and the innovate stuff works off the falling edge, can anyone confirm this? and maybe the signal is getting interference on the rising edge??

Looking at that logworks map i think i can see that its a much slower sampling rate than the aldl, so it might be too slow to see the play. 2 fps vs about 8.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

Innovate use a sliding window filter, as well as the user adjustable filter in logworks. The very early LM2 firmware didn't have the filter and the signal was just as noisy looking as the ECU when I was logging both many years ago. The SSI-4 may have the same filter algorithm.

The ECU reference is the falling edge of the signal from the ign module.

There is a fixed rate for the MTS data stream to logworks of 81.92ms per packet, or about 12 frames per second. Hopefully each device is sampling signals faster than that!
