Will be good to see the results of adding the catch can, then repeat a similar drive to the last one there.

Got the catch can all plumbed up this morning. Ended up just drilling and tapping the OEM PCV valve cover as I couldn't find any appropriate alloy plate in the scrap at work.
Now to wait and see what it catches....

Well it's only really been about a day but the car is driving great, been out a few times, got the opportunity to get up it this morning and no signs of any ignition breakdown and pulled like a steam train. Coming up our street I gave it a boot full at about 40km/h and it kicked down to first and I saw the traction light flashing, changed to 2nd and it kept pulling, engine sounded crisp and clean but I had to get out of it (ya know, speed limits and all.....). Still only revving to 5200 until I get around to fitting new valve springs.
And as a bonus it seems the whistling sound I had last week is gone. I'm Winning this week
I'll continue to monitor the engine oil level and if there is any significant change I'll go looking for it in the catch can.

Nice neat install there. Seems that spot for the canister is perfect.

Cheers mate. If I was to do it again I would move it a touch towards the engine as the bottom of the catch can is very close to the inside guard. It worked out quiet well with the 2 studs spare from the factory.

Check the oil level and catch can today, no noticeable drop in engine oil level and only a very tiny accumulation in the bottom of the catch can, not really even enough to cover the entire bottom of the catch can. Been about 1500km (at a guess) since the install.
Now only to find out what happens when doing some spirited driving....

Finally some real progress. Since the boy is away studying at uni I have broken down his gym gear, cleaned up the garage a bit and this afternoon achieved this,
A lot of cleaning to do but now I can work in it when it suits and tools are all to hand. Brilliant. First things first though is to clean the old girl up a bit.
Why does that damn ABS unit have to be so bloody big. I wonder if the later VT type will work, the early one that uses the same 3 circuit brake configuration as the VS?

Just fitted new front struts, strut bushes and bearings which has definitely got rid of one knock but now it has developed another although I think it's a sway bar bush as it only happens when steering is near full lock going in/out of a driveway etc.
The passenger side top strut bush was totally shagged, the steel inner was floating in the rubber. The bearing on the other side fell apart to when I took the tension of the spring.
New KYB strut.

Nice even strut top gap (was about 10mm with stuffed bush)

Is it just me or you have put vr onwards bearing plates and struts into a vn/p??? (more likely VP seeing the ABS model)
cheers
