For the V6 you can get new bolts now. Dorman starting making them about 2 years ago after they became NLA from GM USA. Not that it's an issue for me, I stocked up on all engine bolts new from GM 5 years ago. Glad I did

That's what surprises me, 308/304 has been a popular platform for modification for decades and water pumps are common enough it's suprising no one does a bolt kit to suit.vlad01 wrote:Probably not, I would look at ARP for the bolts from their jobber kit range, they should have bolts to spec and you can go for the SS ones to prevent rusting them ever again.
It is not too suprising, while it is popular there has been no real need to change it. It also has taken a huge back seat once the ls1/2/3 became an option for retro fit. The poor 304/308 now is a dinosaur and fear parts will actually start to get harder to obtain soon.immortality wrote:That's what surprises me, 308/304 has been a popular platform for modification for decades and water pumps are common enough it's suprising no one does a bolt kit to suit.
It's not so much the need to change it but a lot of the time when you pull and old engine apart the pump bolts are badly corroded. I can get standard hex bolts or cap screws easy enough but the factory style bolt with the splayed head not so mucholdn64 wrote:It is not too suprising, while it is popular there has been no real need to change it.
