so work was busy today. did a bit tonight. i ended up, (for temporary use anyway) dropping a vn commodore pump in a 5L oil bottle. i'll poke the return in the top and pop in some fuel. tomorrow morning i'll see if i can get more than a few seconds running out of it. whole looking around the other day, i reckon a TF rodeo tank might be a goer. it looks small enough to fit up under the cab in the factory location.

Yep sounds good. Need a wide band now and tweak the inj rate till it runs... startup is hard coded x milliseconds pulse of fuel so that probably gets it going but it sounds like its to far out after the inital hit. Can also try calculating the expected value from the % difference in engine capacity and inj flow rate from a factory calibration. Sounds like you have a winner

after looking at it a bit more and searching on here, it looks like i just suck at chip burning. the cel was on hard and the thermo fan would have been on too. plugged in a camira memcal and it fired straight up. idles, runs, does whatever. not over well of course, but it does it well enough to get it into the shed. the 2 stroke fuel may not be helping either !

yeah i was wondering when you said it started then died if it was a reference angle issue, that would explain it, chip fails and it would then go to v6 ref angle!

so limp home would take it back to 70 deg. ref angle ? bugger. is it worthwhile cutting the netres to make it go to 4 cyl. when it's in limp home ? or just giving the whole burning thing another go ? i stacked the bins in tunerpro, to go onto a 27c256 eprom. it verified ok, but didn't work. oh well.

Nah limp mode goes to module mode so the ref angle does not come into play at all. It instead relies on the module and dizzy being setup to match the module your using ie 10deg BTDC for camira - so to get it roughly setup put the engine on 10deg BTDC and line up the tooth in the dizzy with the pickup. Once its running put the engine in diagnostic mode (ground the diagnostic enable line) and the ECU commands 10deg advance below 2k RPM, get a timing light on it and set it to 10deg BTDC.

Make sure to use a memcal that matches the number of cyl the engine has. The netres cyl select is not just for limp home mode. It tells the ECU how many cyl and when to fire the injectors even during normal running so is important for the kinjflow calc.

What bin are you burning to the 256k EPROM?
