the plan was simple, copy the contents of my single to the triple have the correct ODO and airbags and not visit holden
on hot days, when the car has been parked and the interior was hot the cluster would light like a christmas tree and chime like mad until it become cooler inside then back to normal.

flashing the triple with the single eef does not work, it corrupts the middle window and blanks out the 2 side windows

from what i've searched and found this is possible on all clusters with a separate eeprom, as you know these clusters have been a mystery as no one knew how to correct the ODO, i thought i had found a simple solution but comparing the files i can't figure anything out. Waiting for tazzi to jump in

the story so far, i managed the flash the triple with its original eef and bring it back to life i've set the K's to match. i'll fit it tomorrow and visit holden :sad2:

cheers David

So with the Km's now matching on the triple window cluster, once you fit it to the vehicle was isn't working correctly that you need to go to holden for?

Airbags need to change 4 loops to 3 or change the module under the console and add a passenger airbag

Had a feeling it may be that, is there nothing in the software to change air bag config?

Can the software be downloaded by anyone?

yes ebay sellers have a link on their page

the problem is this, the software saves an eef file but it also allows you to edit dump from 0F900 to 0f9FF which is not in the eef file. this is where i think programing data is and, i'm also not sure if or how to upload the edit if at all.

secondly those pins are the size of hair and unless you make a board with DIL switches for testing, you're not going to able to lift and lower the pins more than a few times before they break.

the programing data has got to be close to what the VY VZ S1 use

looked through a few of the ebay sellers & cant see any links for software download?

But looking at the dumps I couldn't see any of the same info as VY-VZ bins & i've done xdf's for these!

but with looking at the software I think that will help, but Tazz is going to be specialist more so!

Program can be grabbed by anyone, just search nec programmer software.

I cant seem to do a whole lot with the program till I get the programmer, already sussed out the whole raise/lower pin stuff, my vx cluster here will be a deticated hacking one so will be soldering in short wires with connectors so can dis/connect easily.

I was just looking at the program and the bin file, and I see what you mean with it allows you to edited parts outside the "supposed" range. Although There is an answer to that.
(much prefer reading the data in normal hex form, odo section looks MUCH better like this)

So the program states the eeprom section is $0F900-$0F9FF.. so this is the location where editable data is stored.(supposedly)

But I think you may be able to do custom reads? or if you choose a different car and read you may get more information?.. just taking a stab at that!

This is one of the dumps that was posted up earlier "Chevrolet Malibu_2001 DASH(Europe)155008Kms.EEF", I have simply padded the ASCII values of the hex data with whitespace to format it into something that looks a lot more meaningful.

Edit: the EEF files are just plain text versions of the hex data, you should be using a text editor to view them, not a hex editor.

Cool Thanks for the update Charlay!

I would never have known to view in text as it was showing auto as text in ultra edit & had to ctr/H to view in hex!

Hopefully it'll make a little more sense now & may be able to compare to other files!

just a small update

the single window displays km in the upper right corner where the triple displays it in the lower left corner and , they are different LCD's and use different instructions

hence cloning is only possible if you do, single to single triple to triple
