i originally planned to recess the tank sump into the floor, but it was going to be too hard, plus having it a few inches higher actually meant i could move it forward to get more room at the rear of the car for battery leads and fuel hoses.

i am gathering intended use is for straight line drag........

why would you need surge to fuel tank return? surely the car would not be running this long that it would need to recycle. I would be turning the lift pump off part way down the run. especially if you are planing alcohol diet...

yes it is for drag racing only.

i dont see why the lift pump needs to be turned off other than to save a few amps of load ?

the whole idea of the surge tank is to keep it full all the time so you never run out of fuel, so to do that you need the lift pump running all the time and it just returns back to the main tank once its full...... that line also stops the surge tank getting pressurised or vacuumed.

Just admiring your fuel setup. Is that a std EFI pump your using for the lift pump?

That sounds reasonable. I am sure you have a nice large return pipe and regulator with the potential fuel pressure to get to 60 psi with one pump feeding the other. Like a 2 stage compressor.
