Fuel BPW Trim

Post by rjc078 »

Hi,

First time poster here but I have been looking around as a guest for quite some time and have gained alot of valuable information - so thanks to everyone for sharing!!

The question I have is in relation to the Fuel BPW trim option in the kalmaker manual. It states that you can change the BPW with a variable resistor and would like to give it a try but I can not find out which pins on the '808 to connect or what resistances to use. The manual states that this option was used on VL Walko's.

Can anybody Help??

Thanks,

Rob

Welcome

Not sure on kalmaker but for the factory code it is pin D8 and B12. Uses two pots (1K should be ok, multiturn might be better for fine adjustment) and connected between gnd and 5v with the swiper to D8 and B12. It allows for +-50% fuel trim with 2.5v on the pin = to 0% adjustement. Pin D8 is low RPM and B12 high RPM. Low RPM is 0-2125RPM, mid range using a combination of both trims is 2125-6375RPM and above 6375RPM is just the high RPM pot value.

This only applies to the $5D style code, VR $12 dropped the BPW trim option.
