Command 3rd gear VX N/a V6
Has anyone ever been able to do a command for lock 3rd gear, I'm trying to do a baseline run on the dyno & anytime I go passed around 75% tps even over 100KMH it keeps kicking back to 2nd!
Bloody pain in the arse!

one way around it is to temporarily adjust the shift tables. let us know what you end up getting out of it, is it stock?
I've been meaning to do a tune on just a stock vx ecotec to see how much there is but havent got around to it lol.

I didn't want to try & re-flash just for the shift point(as I knew I'd be pushed for time & didn't have time if it errored up flashing in!), even if I do change that will it stop it because if I say don't until max(100% tps), I will actually be testing at 100% so won't it shift back anyway?
For interest's sake it put out around 108 rwKw & then with a few bolt on's it went to 121 rwKw, but also for those it makes a big difference just cleaning the MAF sensor & that is around 1 full afr point & around 4 rwKw!

I wonder how HP tuners do there commanding of what gear you want to lock it in?
Makes it bloody easy on the dyno!

If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem
Re: Command 3rd gear VX N/a V6
just had a look at efilive v4 on my laptop and seems only vr 6 and 8 and vs 8 can hold a gear anything later doesnt have it.cheers darren.

Re: Command 3rd gear VX N/a V6
O.k so I finally bit the bullet & changed the shift speeds for 3-2 downshift but now when I start the dyno run low speed I think it's going 3-1?
If I'm hitting 6300 rpm at 110kmh would that be third or second gear(I'll do tests tomorrow but off top of head thinking it's more likely 2nd)?

That'll be 2nd gear.
You should get pretty close to achieveing full power without the need for 100% throttle at lower revs though, think of how little throttle can achieve 100kPa MAP through the mid-range when tuning a MAP based v6.

Re: Command 3rd gear VX N/a V6
you usually need to select third manually then change the D2 mode scalar, 2-3 upshift is normally set at 205km/h so set this where you want it to start in 3rd.
