I am running a $12P code in my turbo vn and just a quick question on switching between map A & B.
I have one tune set up alot more agressive than the other.
My question is, can I switch between the tunes on the run (while I'm driving) or will it cause problems?
thanks in advance

Re: Switching between maps
well you need to suitably populate the right tables in map b but you can yes...
switch is as follows:
B9 ; Map Switching
D8 ; Wideband Input
A4 ; Flex Output 1
A3 ; Flex Output 2
D12 ; Flex Output 3
A7 ; Flex Output 4 - Works as TCC solenoid if Automatic Transmission, Flex table if Manual Transmission.
B12 ; 0-5v A/D Input
D13 ; Jumpered to RT Board Table Switch - wire to switch and D14
D14 ; Jumpered to RT Board Table Switch - wire to switch and D13
switch is as follows:
B9 ; Map Switching
D8 ; Wideband Input
A4 ; Flex Output 1
A3 ; Flex Output 2
D12 ; Flex Output 3
A7 ; Flex Output 4 - Works as TCC solenoid if Automatic Transmission, Flex table if Manual Transmission.
B12 ; 0-5v A/D Input
D13 ; Jumpered to RT Board Table Switch - wire to switch and D14
D14 ; Jumpered to RT Board Table Switch - wire to switch and D13
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: Switching between maps
Im sure I could figure it out by trying, but for the record, how should the the map switch be wired? It is floating for map a or b?, and to select the other one is it switched to 5v b+ or gnd?

Re: Switching between maps
D13 and D14 are spare pins on the ECU harness connector, so can wire the two pin header labelled Map_Sw on the RT board to them. This gives you another map A and map B - except this time your switching a hardware address line instead of a software map switch like B9. This means your not bound by only the items in 12P that have map A and map B, you can have two maps using standard code or can have two totally different code bases loaded to each half of the NVRAM (but in this case you must not switch while the key is on).

Re: Switching between maps
Both maps are the same except for the spark table, AFR ect.Holden202 wrote:well you need to suitably populate the right tables in map b but you can yes...

While I think about it, I am setting up the buggy with the twin turbo set up and I am going to have to run a thermo fan on the intercooler (there will be little natral air flow through it). I don't want to run it all the time only when the boost and air temp start to rise.
Can I use a Flex table to activate a relay to turn the fan on?
How do the flex tables work?

Re: Switching between maps
yes you can, just create a MAT vs MAP flex table, limit the ranges to what you need. use values of 100 and 0 for on and off. if it goes off the edge of the table it uses the last value on the edge of where it went off.
you use the flashtool to define the axes on the flex table, then it will even mod a xdf for you to use. you can go somehting like: Y axis = MAT range 60 - 90 and x axis MAP range 120 - 150, just put 100 int he table in tunerpro where you want the fan on. try to limit the range as it does interpolate the duty cycle a bit between the 100 and 0 cells so can end up with 50 % duty cycle at times. smaller axis ranges will help to reduce the effect.

Re: Switching between maps
What is the voltage range on the output 0 to 5V or is it 0 to 12V
