Hi all, I am new here and new to playing with ECU's. I have been reading through alot on here and learning a heap but I have a possible dumb question for a project I am working on...
I am in the process of taking my VS II Spak Ute (5.0L V8 Manual T-5) up to Series III spec. I have swapped the engine out for a VT series I but am currently running the stock VS loom and PCM while I suss out the electronic side.
I have a VT Series I PCM but need the VS III type output/inputs. Now as far as I can find on here, the VT 1 and VS 3 PCM is the same, so this leads me to wonder if the Memcal controls the output (pinout) of the PCM. Does anyone know if it is possible to use a VS 3 Memcal in a VT 1 PCM and have it run as per the VS 3 wiring???
I have the wiring diagrams for standard VS II (as per current set up, minus the IAT), the VT series 1 (as per the loom sitting in the shed) and the VS 3 (which I want). What I am planning on doing is buying a 195kW (DRRR) Memcal for a starting point. I know I am going to have to sort something out regarding the speed sensor as I am running the T05 box where as the VS III ran the Getrag.
Cheers,
Troy

Well VS3 and VT PCMs are the same part number so cant see why the VS3 memcal cant be used - whats different on the pinouts to VT?

Re: VS III memcal into a VT I PCM question
The VT has twin O2 sensors, runs thermo fans, has an A/C pressure transducer and doesn't have output to the instrument cluster for check engine and brake warning lights (I believe the VT uses serial data via the diagnostics/BCM link to the instrument cluster). The rest of the pins appear to be the same. I am thinking it should be ok, but I don't understand exactly how these work, yet!
