 Lately for no apparent reason, i lose data connection when ever i boot it hard usally around 4500 rpm. Any ideas?, just started randomly prior to this was working fine. Might try reinstalling its a real pisser when logging wot runs.
Using ryans interface cable.

are you using vl400s aldl gear
i had the same problem with a generic unit from another source as the vehicles electrical noise was too much for the other unit

changed to the setup on here and no more dropouts

edit:
sorry just noticed your using the good gear :)

bump. got stuff working ok....except this shit keeps happening cant rev it out at wot just flashs red error and stops recording till i stop and reconnect. this shits me to tears. what are the list of possible causes? ive tried a different usb a a cable no different tried missus laptop no luck. hope i dont need a whole new usb interface.
is there some kind of codensor type setup i can use somewhere to reduce leccy interference?
thanks.

Are you using the oseplugin? I gather you are not, but if you are try without.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

If you get no where can send you a new interface, they generally have no issues with electrical noise and keep logging regardless of RPM.

Hi ryan. Is there a better interface available now? This one you sent about three months back.
If there is a better one available ill grab one after ive had abit more of a play trying to get this one to work better. Seems to be more under high load, ie if i rev it out under mid throttle it doesnt boot me, just when i really stamp on it its really frustrating! Guess i should eliminate all other factors to avoid having two cable setups and the same prob.Would it be worth going over the ignition and other electrical system and checking for loose/dodgy connections or does this not effect the data bus?
Thanks
Edit: just remembered i have been getting dtc 47 18x input ground or missing.....apparentlr indicates dodgy cas. Possible cause?

Nope, been no changes to the design for ages. Maybe the PCM is too busy, although it should do the same under light throttle at high RPMs. Can try adding a pause in the monitor macro to slow the data logging and see if that helps.

I guess it could possibly be a loose connection somewhere (wont be easy to find!), does it drop data on bumpy roads?

Nah seems fine on bumpy stuff. What should my tps voltage be at 100% throttle, should be 5v i think, usually last frame before i get booted shows tps volts 4.5 and high lighted red in engine data, just thinking as it seems to be throttle related....

4.5v is ok. Will never see 5v on it, and will trigger a high tps volts if you do.

Tried adding a 100ms pause in the monitor macro no good.
Clutching at straws and shit here but been read a post where a dude was having trouble with the same thing but with nvram, working fine other then datalogging, turned out the nvram was corrupted. Ive written over the current eeprom a fair few times now, i know its not logical as the car runs fine on the eeprom but could this be something associated do you think.
Btw sorry if the constant posting is annoying people.
