acceleration enrichment too rich ?

Post by V8hilux »

Hi,

I would like to know what the wideband afr is supposed to show when stabbing the throttle?

In neutral idling... afr is 13.5 when I jab the throttle the wideband drops to 9 or so instantly.

I understand it is there to compensate for the quick intake of air with the throttle jab but what is a normal afr to expect during the enrichment?

is the 9 afr ok or am i leaving horses on the table ?

thanks.

It is prob a bit rich but does it stumble at all? AE is more about getting the engine to respond than actual numbers, can try a bit less AE and see how it reacts.

light acceleration should drop 1 to 1.5 afr points from cruise afr.eg 14.7 to 13.7 -13.2.in the nines is defently to rich will be making it bog down.even heavy accel shouldnt be that rich about 12.5 na 11.5 boosted.bit hard to see accel fuel on a wideband because its not there for long.best way is to lean accel enrichment till you get a flat spot then add just enough to get rid of flat spot that will give you best throttle response.just make sure main fuel is mapped first constant loading no accel fuel.sounds like you fuel mapping is to rich.
