Using KalMaker Workshop

Post by VX L67 Getrag »

Hi Guys,

Newbie, Just wondering when you buy kalmaker software it comes with bins you can access, even if you download other bins you can't load them in KalMaker!
Does anbody know how to activate them so it reads any other binaries?
I'm looking for a binarie to suit the vx calais with a getrag manual box behind it, there was a PCM code of CARN that was released to overseas with that exact combination but nobody seems to have it & then I would need to be able to open it in kalmaker!!!!!
Hmm what a conundrum! :driving:

Hope someone can help!

Cheers VX Calais L67 Getrag!!! :comp:

If your trying to open a stock bin in Kalmaker why would they care, thats just more business for their program.....

aside from that, without having kalmaker workshop i don't see how any of us would know the answer to that question ..... your best bet would probably be to ask on the kalmaker forum to see if it is in fact possible to open a stock bin into kalmaker, or if you have to had a specific kalmaker one to do it.

I know enough from playing around with street pro 3 that what you need is the data files that define what is what in the bins. Its a propriety format so you cant add any files of your own and it cant be made to open bins that didnt come with it.

What is a heaps better tool is Tunerpro as its a whole lot newer and will run under windows with a USB serial adaptor. Same problem though, you still need datafiles that define whats in the bin. We dont have any for VY yet, but check back from time to time, as sooner or later a solution will be developed.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the info!

The program actually allows you to choose autodetect maf or force map sensor, so at the moment I am trying to tune it with a MAF so I can get that right, & I have brand new map sensors here so I will then wire in a map & tune it for that also.

I just want & need practise, from what I have heard tuning for map should be a lot easier & more acurate is this right?

DOES anyone have a bin to suit vt-vx manual getrag box????

i dunno if the map is more or less accurate, probably less, but it is definately much easier for me to tune with map than maf :D

from what i hear the vt and vx supercharged were never factory manual in aussie or newzealand at least anyway.a bin will be hard to find due to that reason any idea what contry they were released with the manual may help track something down if you find a site in that country but ide say chances are slim on finding a manual tune

In Fact I Do know who it was released to which was the arabs, not only that I have the PCM code which I have a full release of all the GM & the PCM code is CARN,
If anyone would like the lists of pcm codes with what gear they were released with let me know & I shall pass it on!

I'm surprised about tuning the map is less responsive as the MAF, I could imagine that it may be easier to tune, maybe I haven't tried yet!

But the tune that i'm trying with, it seems to hunt really badly for first 5mins of running at idle & watching the gauges screen it's hard to say what it is thats doing it, but it looks like the advance is jumping up & down around degrees while it's happening, would this be the cause or something that isn't obvious to me yet?
