Hi guys,
I purchased a http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/USB-2-0-UART ... 3124wt_703 and added the 1k0 resister and 1N914 diode pair to the TX and RX.
I am using the 8228 drivers by Stu.
Using the TT Datamaster ALDL Test, the cable passes correctly.
I am trying to connect this to a VT 3.8L, using pin 5 connected to GND on the above circuit, and pin 9 connected to the TXD, RXD, diode, resister single wire.
I have tried EFILive v4, TunerPro v4 (with latest ADS), TunerPro v5 (with latest ADX), and for some reason I can't seem to be able to have the ALDL communication to happen.
When connected, I can see lots of chatter on the connection, and EFILive v4 can see that chatter, but for some reason it doesn't want to connect. No macros work, so I can't read the DTC or anything else.
Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong, or anything that I can try to get it working ?
Cheers,
Damien

Does the cp2102 support 8192 baud? You may be running at 9600.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

If you post some of the chatter and can tell you if they are valid frames. Should see something along the lines of this .. https://pcmhacking.net/forums/view ... f=10&t=724

It does if you reconfigure it's baud rate prescalers for the 7-10k range.antus wrote:Does the cp2102 support 8192 baud? You may be running at 9600
I've used these in a few 808s for high speed coms mods but found that on some PCs it helps if you drop the FIFO buffer down a bit

Hi guys,
OK, so I was playing around with the OSE Enhanced Flash Tool V136, and at first it didn't work with the VT definition that came with it. So, I changed the echo to be "Auto Detect", rather than "Ignore". After this change, I was able to connect to the ECM via the Flash Tool!
I tried to turn off the "Echo" flags within TunerPro and EFILive, and they are now both able to connect to the ECM.
The possible reason why there are echo "problems", is because of the polarity of the D3 diode. I was following circuit diagram from http://www.techedge.com.au/vehicle/aldl8192/8192hw.htm. I've ordered 2 more of the USB TTL boards (just for fun), and will solder the D3 the other way around to see if that changes the echo issues.
I checked the DTC codes via TunerPro, and it shows up codes 31,35,48,92. (These don't seem very problematic, should I be concerned with them?) I then used EFILive to clear the DTC codes using the macro, and checked the DTC codes in TunerPro again, and they are now cleared.
I have collected the BIN, CAL, EEP, and RAM via Flash Tool, and some logs.
Let me know if everything looks OK, or if there is anything that you would like me to retest etc on this car.
Cheers,
Damien
