hey guys i have no knowledge with tuning and im sure you's all know more then me.
im changing my calais (ecotec) to manual (using the conversion from a vr exec) now i wanna know if its possible to run the calais off the vr ecu so i can get rid of the maf sensor, but at the same time still keeping the stock calais immobiliser. am i better off using the vr engine loom? i know i gotta change a few sensors and i read something about the fan speeds? im not too sure about all this so anyones help is appreciated and if theres anything else i need to know feel free to let me know.
cheers.
vs series 2 calais on vr ecu.

id just leave it as it is and get a manual memcal, you may need to check your pcm. I wouldn't both going mafless unless your running more than a bar of boost.

getting my auto memcal tuned is looking more like the go i dont think i'm confident enough to do what is involved in that link im not that crafty haha, just thought either way i went i had to get the memcal tuned and i have the complete vr and my maf sensor is playing up. is it even possible but to run it off the vr ecu and keep the immobiliser or that more to do with the bcm?

im pretty sure if using a vr pcm you'll need a vr bcm, the tune side of things would be difficult, it has been done with 12p by holden 202 on this forum using an 808 vn/vp ecu though.
All you need to do in that link is pull the cover off your pcm in the vs and check those electrical components to see if they are there or not on yours, this will tell you if your going to have issues with the T5 VSS which is different to auto/getrag.

to answer the original question, yes, if you put the custom $12P software on the VR manual PCM, and tick the VS vats option flag, then you can run the ecotec off the vr computer and keep the vats working fine.

yeah it ran good, after I made a quick tune to suit the ecotec. you mainly gain throttle response, and after a quick tickle up it made more power than on the stock vs ecu.

hmm that sounds alright, motor and box are coming out soon so i may experiment down that route for something different, just gotta find someone to do a tune.
