How to get 12p into a VY?

Post by Brados »

Im thinking i want to try and run a 12p ECU in my VY ute which currently has a flash pcm, This is as i need a MAP tune and would also like to real time tune and learn 12p.

What would be the best way to go about this? piggy back the flash pcm or swap it out and loose a few dash functions. My other option would be to go kalmaker. What do people think of this idea? im still a newb and need advice :D

Which would be the cheaper path, Kalmaker software or converting to a 12p ecu? Do i have any other options?

I would prob be going Kalmaker if you really must use a MAP on a VY. Getting 12P to work with everything would be a pain, and if its an auto even harder.

Yeah it definetaly has to be MAP as it will be running a A2A cooler on an L67, It is manual however.

How hard is kalmaker to learn and how user friendly is it? IE: compared to modifying tables in tuner-pro.
How much does it cost for kalmaker on a single car? i had a look on the kalmaker site but its pretty vauge with giving you exact costs.

ive been running 2bar realtime kalmaker ecu on my charged vp v6 commodore for 9 years now.i bought the software and tuned the car myself.not hard to use just have to learn what all the variables control and how it affects engine operation thats what takes time to learn.if you end up puchasing kalmaker send me a pm or ask on the forums and i can help you where i can.i often check this forum and kalmaker.i would suggest to send alan gibbs an email for a firm price for your setup.cheers darren.
