L67 Knock Check

Post by wamboin23 »

Just a quick request, wondering if someone can go over this log (attached).

Just fitted a 5% overdriven balancer, and already have a 87mm (10psi) pulley, from what I can see there is no knock or anything like that, but would just like confirmation.

BIN, XDF, ADX and log attached
Cheers,
Brendan

your getting knock retard but by the looks no knock. probably a question more aimed at experienced members but is there a reason why his vss signal is so erratic? unless its just me?

not getting knock, turn burst knock off.

As above need to checkout your vss, looks like youve done a conversion into something, using a T5 on a Auto pcm? Need to check this.

Cheers for checking it out guys.

How do I turn off Burst knock off? Just by by setting maximum the Burst knock retard scalar to zero?

Yes it is a T5 manual, but it is running a stock VS V6 T5 ECU. I'll get the oscilloscope on to it sometime during the week.
It has 3.73 diff gears, but speedo corrector does not correct ECU, just speedo. Thats why it goes up to ~170km/h, but was only doing maybe 90km/h.

just set coolant to 150deg, split spark tables will also give retard if it can't run on the main/high table

Hi(Main)/Low Spark Tables, if there set differently it will interpolate between them giving varying spark, typically you will set the low and high the same then tune via intake temp table to cover for weather, youl get more consistent spark and results. Well that's the way i do it and have found anyway.

Will setting Hi spark table = Low spark table disable burst knock? I cant see any burst knock paramaters in my bin

Also how do you spot true knock and not just knock retard?

i use the data dash to display actual knock. you have to edit the adx though.
