Yeah that will suit you fine. I (and many others) use the GQ-4X from http://www.mcumall.com but its not the only option. So long at they'll work in modern pcs with real USB (unlike the old willems) you shouldnt have any trouble. I think delcowizzid was using a top brand burner for a while.

yeah i use a top programmer that i scored off ttvn ages ago but it never burns a 27c512 memcal so i use old faithfull willem but a lot of people have no issues burning the same type of chip.the top is good cause i dont need a lappy with parrelell port when at the track and it has a case much more portable LOL.the softwares a bit chinese but it all works

yes the top programmers will work, but it's crap quality. The software is very chinese but "functional." My top programmer failed for no good reason after a few months of service, no longer writes chips. I suspect it may need better power source than my laptop was providing, but that's purely conjecture. The moates burn2 is worth the $85 US (plus shipping for those of you on the bottom of the globe), or there are even better options if you get into the several hundred USD price range.

gq-4x here, burns everything there is apart from some obsure serial roms and software is easy, it's usb as well

Ok can anyone tell me, looking to purchase an Eprom burner the top fits my budget, but an eBay search does not reveal the top2004 model, bujt does show the 863,2008, 2011 3000,3001 models.nd more. Which one should a noob like me choose? ie equivalent to the 2004 model. tia.

I think the 2004 model has been superseded. I think it is the model I have at home. I do not use the model i have as it has no Windows 7 software. I was not able to get it to work on windows 7 so gave up, Google didn't offer any help.

I'd suggest googling for the software, and install that. Then see if you still want it. I dont have the hardware, and kinda feel dirty for installing the app.
