g'day all
just having a couple of problems ive got a bog stock ecotec running on 808 $12p with holden202's ecotec bin. problem is that i was watching a log and it must have been as i was going up a hill or something because the manifold pressure hit 189kpa which is almost 2 bar now for starters how does a standard map sensor read that high and secondly how does it get that high without the assistance of ram air intake or forced induction i understand at the speed i was goind at that there would be some ram air but it would be very little. also the reason i was looking at the logs is that i can be cruising along and then just as throttle is applied it stumbles only slightly. at idle it does the same thing you stab the throttle the rpm drops down and picks up and some time just as you pull up and put your foot on the clutch is trys to stall and rpm drops to about 500 it'll sit there for about 4-5 seconds then pick up.
Cheers
Darren

Re: v6 manifold pressures
i'm interested to hear how this tune goes for other people!!
i've just had a look at the log and i can't see anything over 92.64 kpa, i assume your using 1bar map sensor and 1 bar adx ?
what i can see though is that when your cruising along at 1:21 in the log tps increases as does map and it drops out of lean cruise then at 1:27 it increases again to 48% tps and map kpa goes to 92.64 .... at this point its targetting 14 AFR and the o2 sensor is showing a pretty rich mixture. the strange thing is that should be accelerating pretty briskly i would think, but the rpm stays the same the whole time!!
having said that, this is a manual and maybe a hill in 5th gear might need that much tps to maintain speed....
i would like to see a log of the stumble your seeing, it does sound alot like accelerator enrichment which i never really tuned out of my motor while i had the 808 on it but a log should show if it goes lean on the throttle stab or not.
not sure about the one when your pulling up, but again, if you can get a log and post it might be able to help diagnose a bit.

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: v6 manifold pressures
yea the tps % and speed are because of the gear ratios and the fact that it was a little bit hilly while i was taking the log but this is when you can feel the stumble the most. ill get a log of the stumble while stabbing it tomorrow.also some time and rarely that this happens the problem of it dropping rpm while pulling up some time actually happens while just sitting there idling ive tired to get a log of it but everytime i try to it decides to play cricket and start working properly

Re: v6 manifold pressures
well if your saying its happening in that log, one suggestion i have is turn off lean cruise and see if it fixes the cruising throttle stumbles .....
it might also be worth doing that too and get a few nice long logs with some blm's to see if the tune is out, cause if it is that will only make the stumble worse.
i always thought this tune was only ever going to be a ballpark thing to get people going then could fine tune from there.
also if your keen when you do a log get a WOT run in there for me please

Re: v6 manifold pressures
ill give it ago and turn off the lean cruise and ill get a wide open for you oh by the way im actually using th 123 bar xdf is there supposed to be a setting in the adx or xdf or something for the 12 or 3 bar option because i think thats why im not getting correct readings if you say your only getting a max of 93 or something because right now im looking at the log and im definately getting a reading 183 at the moment.
cheers

Re: v6 manifold pressures
Yeah there are ADXs to suit 1, 2 and 3 bar and a variety of fuels. Unike the XDF there is not a one size fits all so you must choose the ADX that matches your setup.
You will want to use "OSE_$12PV111_1BAR - Petrol.adx"

Re: v6 manifold pressures
so i got a log of wot a real short on and one a little longer also one of just sitting there at idle and giving it very quick stabs you can see that the revs drop a little but also my spark drops to zero and i think if im reading the narrow band o2 volts correctly it goes lean as well

Re: v6 manifold pressures
your right it is dipping lean when you stab it, but im not sure if that is when you take the throttle off or what .....
either way your tune looks pretty rich everywhere from what i can see - what exhaust is on this thing ?
i would strongly suggest getting a wideband o2 .... the narrowband will allow you to get it closer but will never be right .....
just as an example, idling at 900mv is way rich, if the computer is commanding 14.7 it should be more like 500-600mv ....

Re: v6 manifold pressures
is stock exhaust except the cat has a pipe welded through it. and yea i have a wideband kit on the way a 14point7 slc oem one once ive gotten that ill sort out the ve tables abit cause im pretty sure there way off. ive let the narrow band try and tune the ve tables but ive ended up with really wierd spikes in it saying like 92% ve at 20kpa at 1200rpm which is not even possible it looked like a bloody echidna when 3d mapped
